| Kid's Nite Out was established in 1998 with Carol
Evans at the helm. Carol’s concept was simple, as a mother
of two children herself: There’s a point in time while on vacation
with the kids that Mom and Dad need a break for themselves. Moreover,
kids
still need to have the time of their lives while Mom and Dad go out.
Thus, the concept of Kid's Nite Out was born.
Having started with sitter services and children’s conventions,
Kid's Nite Out now manages the children's camps at all three Universal
hotels (all are Loews hotels): The Portofino Bay Hotel, the Hard
Rock Hotel and the Royal Pacific Hotel. Since the spring of 2001,
Kid's Nite Out has been contracted with Walt Disney World as their “exclusive
childcare provider” for in-room sits and children's conventions.
Kid's Nite Out takes pride in its dedicated caregivers, camp
counselors, reservation staff, and on-board management, having
provided care for thousands of children over the years. Childcare
representatives are at least 18 years of age and include college-age,
grandmotherly, motherly, and fatherly caregivers. You’ll
recognize Kid’s Nite Out caregivers by their signature purple
shirts, Kid's Nite Out IDs, toy bags full of age-appropriate toys,
and pleasant demeanor.
Each caregiver is thoroughly assessed with an application process,
interviews, background checks, and reference checks. Equally as
prioritized, the caregiver must fully comprehend child safety,
know what children like in order to have fun, and genuinely love
children. Once approved, each caregiver goes through specialized
Kid's Nite Out training and Disney Orientation. All services are
followed through with stringent security procedures.
